Hello everyone!
After posting yesterday about IR diet ... i found that there are many women here with PCOS so I was thinking we should have a support group offering support encouragement, stories and info.
Maybe we could start with a short bio ... I will start!
Name: Nikole
Age: 31
PCOS diagnosis: 6 months ago
PCOS symptoms: irregular periods, amenorrhea, acne, weight gain, androgenic alopecia
Medication: none currently but was taking Yasmin up until a month ago
Health goal: Lose weight, establish a fitness routine that I can stick for life, establish a healthy eating habit, get the pain and acne under control
Plan following: no plan per say .... zig zag calorie counting, lower carbs, high protein, real food, cross trainer
Other info to share: I have blessed even with having PCOS to have 3 children, without any fertitly drugs.
Please feel free to friend me if you like ...

I believe that a PCOS group would be a great idea. I was just diagnoses with PCOS and type 2 diabetes three days ago. My dr. and I were trying to figure out why even with diet and exercise I was unable to drop weight. After many tests I was placed on Metformin 500 mg and in two days I have dropped 4 lbs. I plan to lose 60 more lbs and I feel better knowing that I was not crazy and that I was not just being lazy. It gave me a piece of mind and I cannot wait to reach my goals....
Name: Michelle
Age: 27
PCOS DX: 3 days ago
Medication: Metformin 500mg0 -

Welcome Jeri and Michelle!
wow great work ... congrats on the weight loss Jeri keep it up ... I too started in late Jan and have lost 22lbs! Feeling sooooo much better! Adding you ...
Michelle wow amazing results 4lbs. For yrs I dieted and worked out without any result. I figured it was due to my diet or just poor genes. Stupid me never thought I needed to see a doc about it. I had my children without issues --- but I have very irregular periods. After my 3rd child, I didn't get my period for over a 9m so I went to the doc and got the ball rolling to get a diagnosis. I am million times happy to know the reason why I have gained all this weight with all my efforts to lose. Currently not on any meds ... but I still trying to find with my doc the med right for me!
Glad to have you all in the group ... and remember to update your status ...0 -
