Ok, I'm a bit confused as to what it means to be adding or doing sprints in a workout. If I am doing a fast walk, then adding 30-60 seconds of jogging every 5 minutes or so, is that considered sprinting? Or does it mean something else? I was reading the "Primal Book" and it mentioned it a lot in there, and I have seen on post trainers that mention it also. Is there a difference between "High Intensity Training " AND "Sprinting"? I'm just really confused as to what it really is! Please, can someone explain? Thanks a bunch.

Sprinting is running as fast as you can (like running for your dear life). Which sends your HRM very high to the point it becomes anaerobic. When you combine it with walking or jogging it becomes High Intensity Training. Mostly because your heart rate is going from low to very high

For example. I will start walk/jogging for the first 20 seconds. And then sprint for 10 seconds. jog and walk. for 20..Then run like hell for the next 10.

Perfect Example, when Jillian from the biggest loser makes the contestants do it on the treadmill

Thank so much! I think I get it now. It's just running as fast as you can, hopefully without tripping and falling....LOL and doing it for a short duration! I will have to try that. Last night I was able to run for about 10 minutes without stopping, and my jogging is at a very slow pace while I am working up to it all. I was shocked I was able to do that and I would have been able to keep on going if it wasn't for my mother wanting me to stop and continue walking with her! I will try sprinting in the hopes that I do not fall and hurt myself to bad. Thanks so much for the explanation!
