What do you eat to make sure you get enough?

I have some health issues that prevent me from always holding food down, AND I can't always taste food that's not really salty or sugary. This poses problems because I'd rather not eat than eat cardboard.
But, I continue to try.
I'd love to talk to people who struggle with eating enough calories, or finding enough flavour. Open food diaries really help.
Thanks, and looking forward to chatting!

I hear that Mrs. Dash seasonings are great ....have you tried them? I haven't, so I can't tell you from personal experience, but I plan on getting some next time I stop at the grocery store...salt is a big issue with me...as in, I LOVE IT. So, I am hoping the Mrs. Dash will help me decrease my salt usage.0

same problem here. I am not a doc but i found out that Lays classic patato chips do the job for me. I just eat one of those little 150 calorie bags and my stomach is not to sensitive after that. It also provides your body with tons of electrolythes.
I hope that helps

My diary is open, and as you can see from it, I struggle to make the allotted 1200 calories a day.
To get flavour into my foods, I often use vinegars - including balsamic and white wine vinegar. You don't need much to change the flavour. Also, pickled vegetables...

I have a really sweet tooth...so have to eat either artificially sweetened stuff or fruit...salt is not a problem...I use loads of pepper & herbs instead..and home cook most of my food..diary is open. Regarding holding down food...I might be able to help if I knew a bit more about the problem.(.I'm not a Dr) but I have had training in Special Dietary needs both as a cook in a Nursing Home and as a Carer.0

My diary is also open and you are welcome to view it! I too have problems getting enough calories and sometimes I eat a string cheese or an ounce of slices almonds. I never have a hard time getting enough veggies as I eat so much salad but I do love it. I could be a vegetarian very easily and have considered it as of late.
I never was a huge salt eater but I notice when something does not have enough salt. I find I use a lot of pepper to get flavor. Also the balsamic vinegar is good to use. As for Ms Dash I do have one variety at home but havent remembered to use it yet. I know when I looked at them there are different combinations of spices. I also use something called NUSALT that is a salt substitute. I like salt on cantalope so I just sprinkle a little on it and to me it tastes just like salt.
Good luck and add me as a friend if you would like!
