I follow MFP like to the T but I am not losing for about the last 4 weeks haven't moved an inch on the scale. I have two months until I leave for vacation and I hope to lose at least 5 more pounds. I excercise EVERYDAY!!!! I eat only 1200 on sundays(my only none excercise day) and the other days I am usually under by like 100 cal. but over on protein by 2 and the rest are usually good. I am getting a little upset , I feel like nothing will help me at this point.
HELP, what am I going wrong?

what are your numbers.
by that I mean, height, weight, activity level. also, give us your current goals setting.
maybe we can see something off.0 -
okay,
I am 5'2"
178 pounds (lost 17 already)
I workout at least 1 hour at the gym burning about 300-400 calories depending on what I am doing.
Current goal status is 125 pounds.
MFP says by Aug. 9 I would lose 8 pouunds if I stayed at 1200 cal. That is with 40 fat and 45 protein per day.0 -
i am same height weight as you (the weight prior to losing)
I was at a plateu for 2 wks or more. I went on vacation with my family and went over my cals each day, but kept up the exercise. I swear this kicked my metabolism into gear because i have been losing steadily since
there are a few threads about a 'day off'. your body gets used to what you are doing and you have to do something different to shake it up.
there are quite a few threads about adding cals to lose weight. sounds nuts but it worked for me.
check it out! Remember that although you are not losing weight, you may be adding muscle. are your clothes looser? Also there is the health benefit of eating well. Dont forget the end result it a healthier you!
You can do it!0 -

Thanks....I know that I have lost inches in my thighs and today I measured my wait and lost 2 there as well so that made me happy. I have to wonder if I should have a day off but what do I eat that day, I sometimes just don't eat that much. I could really go for a burger but I want to wait because we are having people over on thursday night (freinds) as well as Sat. all day(the inlaws). I just want to keep losing and I want to thank you for your support. Today I pushed myself after seeing the scale and it said 178 when I left home at 830 then after 60 min. ellipitical (734 cal) I can home at 1130 and wieghed in at 177.....made me happy. Today I am sticking with the cals and I have added sodium count and fiber as well because I figure maybe I have to much sodium each day.0

Well, There are a couple of things I can tell you. 1st, without knowing what you are eating (calorie count is 1/2 the battle, but types of calories, and when and how much you eat at any one sitting is also just as important) it's hard to say why it's not working for you for the last month.
It could be simply that, as you said, you already lost 17 lbs, and now your body is reconfiguring itself, that can take a while, and while it happens, you won't lose much weight. I noticed you said you lost inches, that's just as important as weight, maybe you are gaining a little muscle too, which can partially offset any weight loss. Eventually it will happen for you, it's just plain impossible to eat less then you burn and not lose weight in the long run.
Other questions I would have are: your caloric burn at the gym sounds a little low for a full hour, when you say an hour, do you mean, working out for a full hour? Or just I got there at 4 and I left at 5, which could mean, 5 minutes to change, 5 minutes to get my water and find a machine...etc (you know what I mean, right?) Cuz 300 to 400 cals in 1 hour sounds low. The reason why I ask is because if you are going by this site, then maybe you are off by a few hundred, and that could send you into starvation mode, which could cause you not to lose weight even though you are doing all you can. Even the machines at the gym can be as much as 300 calories off in an hour.0 -
I am having the same problem. I have about 10lbs to lose and really struggle to see any movement in the numbers- when I do they crawl back up again. I have tried the eating more calories but the scale moves up when I do that.
I am working out 6 days- wts and cardio for about 1-1/2 hours. I am eating about 13-1500 cal per day.
I am finding it hard with little movement but am sticking with it and trying to really mix up my workout routine with yoga and some spin classes to see if that changes things.
I have always had a really hard time losing wt and feel that sometimes my body just needs a lot of changing things up to lose the wt.
Hang in there with all of it and if you can try some different kinds of exercises, classes at the gym- it may help you!0 -

While both of you are running into the same issue Mlillie, I think the reasons why are divergent. Your's sounds more like a need to re-examine your calories per day.
for you this post may help.
