Hey everyone! I'm looking for some new ab exercises to do. I've been doing crunches and bicycle crunches, but I'm looking for some effective lower ab exercises to help get rid of my pooch. Any tips would be great!

There are some great ab exercises in the latest copy of Fitness magazine. I think you can see them online as well.

There's a good 10-minute workout for ya. If it's too easy, the same trainer also has a 20-minute abs workout.
  • definitely do plank... you can also do flutter kicks and 45 degree leg holds. just make sure to keep your head up and hands under your butt - it will keep your neck from spazing out :]

I do the following to mix up my ab exercises:

    Lower:
    hanging knees to chin raises
    Medicine Ball Leg Raises
Inverted Exercise Ball Leg Pull Ins

    Obliques:
    Fingers To Heel Oblique Touches
    Oblique barbell twist
    Hanging Oblique Knee Raises

    Mid/Upper
    Exercise Ball Abdominal Pull Ins
    Abdominal Butt Raises

You can also visit this website for other ideas and watch an actual video to see a sample:

Ab exercises have their purpose for getting that flat stomach, but just be sure your main focus is eating healthy. Your diet is a major part of getting your belly in shape. And if you feel like you need some extra info, this book is really popular right now and has helped a lot of people if your willing to check it out, it could help you too! It's entitled "Truth About Six Pack Abs"
