Hi, I am new to the site which my sister reccomended. I am 47 and trying to get off this plateau where I have been stuck for a couple of years. I want to drop the last 7-8 pounds so I can be in my jeans and breathe/eat at the same time, but although I can drop 2 or 3, they tend to go right back on.

I know that I do better when I journal all my food, so that will help. I also try to get to the gym, but usually only get there once a week, maybe twice. I really LOVE food (and wine), and I feel hungry most of the time. I also have a serious issue with portion control - even if I am eating something healthy, I will end up eating a LOT of it if I am not careful.

I am having foot surgery at the end of June, and am anxious to drop this weight before that happens, because then I will be unable to go to the gym for probaby 4-6 weeks.

Hope to make connections with others who are on that last stubborn pounds plateau!

    Hi

You have already added me! I can completely sympathise with you I have been the same wieght give or take a couple of pounds for three years now, never been able to shift the last few. Joined MFP at the end of last year, the weight is still not moving very fast but I am getting tons fitter along the way!

Good luck, maybe we can get there together!

  • Hi! Congratulations on getting started. I wanted to respond because I have the same issues with portion control... I really do enjoy food (and wine) and dislike being hungry.
You're right about the food journal, it really increases awareness. It brought to my attention that some of the higher calorie foods still left me unsatisfied. Drinking LOTS of water and herbal teas helps too. I've made some dramatic changes in my diet and thanks to accepting a challenge from a friend I've increased the frequency of my workouts. As a result I'm actually seeing that last few pounds melt away and that's the best motivation.
