Hi. I just started here. I'm still trying to formulate my plan, but I know that support is essential to my success, so I'm putting myself out there, even though I hate the feeling of vulnerability.
Anyways, I'm a 32 year old female graduate student in the last few months of my phd (which means lots of stress and lots of time in front of a computer). I've almost always struggled with my weight, although I've also almost always been very athletic and love working out. But last week my father was diagnosed with cancer, and it has inspired me to lose the weight I've put on over the past 10 years or so.
I also want to lose weight so that I can truly embrace running. I really enjoy it, and last week finished my second half-marathon. It's so fun! But at my size it's not that awesome for my joints so as circular as it sounds, I want to lose weight so I can workout
I've slowly lost weight over the last several months, but I made a conscious effort to 1. not know my weight or how much I was losing, and 2. not track my calories. And while it worked, I've lost patience and guess I need the immediate satisfaction to keep myself on track for the long-term. I just struggle finding the balance between being healthy and being obsessed.
So I am looking forward to meeting some friends and sharing in this experience.

Hi
Welcome to the site. I have always been up and down with my weight until I started this last year and love it. I went from a size 16 down to a size 6...feels great. Feel free to add me. :flowerforyou:0
