Okay so hubby is out of town for the week for work. My son goes to bed around 7:30-8:00 each night so I am bound to the house in the evening this week.

I NEED MOTIVATION TO WORK OUT!!!! I have things to work out with or to at my house but I find it much more motivating to go outside and work out. I usually walk with a lady in my neighborhood after my son goes to bed but I can't this week. And I work from 9 to 5:30 daily... we get home in just enough time to eat dinner, play a little bit, get baby a bath, then bedtime for him.

HELP!!!

find some good in home exercises and set up some goals. I'll admit, this only works if you're a competetive person like me, but it does work. For instance, I'll do 15 minutes on my 12 step stairs (real stairs are SO much harder then the eliptical!) and 2 five minute jump rope routines. Believe it or not, this is a pretty brutal workout. You want some extra burn? Get 2 dumbells and do the stairs with them (I use 2 15 lb dumbells to add 30 lbs for it). Or when you do your jump rope, buy some 3 or 5 lb ankle weights, that can be rough though, I can only do 5 minutes when I add the leg weights. I'll admit it, I have chicken legs. There's lots to do though, I bought a fitness ball so I can do all kinds of core exercises, I have a 20 lb heavy ball that I use for some oblique and lat work, and there's always yoga and pilates. All of these things are pretty quiet so you should be able to do them while the little guy is sleeping.

That's all I have for ya, hopefully something tickles your fancy.

Girl, I can relate to your problem. My hubby works all the time and that's why I can never plan anything in the evenings. My girls are normally in bed by 7:00pm-7:30pm and I just can't seem to get motivated to exercise after they are in bed.

Could you fit your exercise in the morning before your baby wakes up? That way you'll be done for the day and when you get home from work you'll have no worries! :flowerforyou:

    I feel your pain!

that one always worked for me at rugby training, lets just say i respond well to being shouted at when exercising

what about the good old fashioned circuit of squats, steps, sit-ups, press-ups, bench dips etc, yo can do all of those whilst watching TV ...

I also feel your pain! I teach so am off for the summer. My kiddies get up at 7:30 or so and my husband has already been gone for work an hour. My husband then gets home at 5:30 or 6 at night. I have two toddlers and they take both of our energy to get fed, bathed and in bed by 7 or 8. I have been walking for an hour daily with both of the kiddos in a double jogger but it is getting so hot, even in the morning here in good ol' Iowa. I need to get my tail out of bed at 5 or 5:30 and kick some tail walking/running outside. I'll do it if you will!
By the way--I don't know if you can do this. I send my kids to daycare 2x a week for about 5 hours each. This way, I can fit an intense workout in, get groceries and run errands in half the time it would normally take me. I feel no guilt! They love to play with other kids too.

Do you have any teenagers in your neighborhood that would babysit? That'd be a pretty easy job, just come over and watch TV while he sleeps!
