help! 6 hours to recover

Hi, I have heavy legs today, I have upped my exercise and this morning cycling to work was not easy, there are a couple of uphills that last for no more than 2km but I found it hard.

At 4pm I have to cycle home and this is a different proposition altogether it is 20km of almost all uphill some of which is, for me, very steep - during the 20km I climb 650metres about 1900ft.

My question is what can i do to make my quads ready for this ride in 6 hours time, they are quite tight, I have done a few stretches already but is there anything else i should be doing to manage this ride? There may be a possibility of getting picked up after 12km if I am lucky but I cannot count on that!

Your help is appreciated, thanks Debbie

If you are at work, I honestly can't think of anything to help, but look, you are a champion! haha, I am reading your post and it is amped!! WAY TO GO!!! you inspire me :D
BTW, if you were at home a cold shower or bath would help, and lots of protein and water as well. Good luck!!

I am in a similar position today after running yesterday (which i never normally do!) and my friend at work told me that walking is supposed to help, so if you have a lunch break or anything coming up could you have a short walk around?

The only cure for heavy legs is rest.
