Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if green tea has more caffeine than normal black tea? (PGTips)

I figured a few years back that caffeine interfered with my sleep so I dont usually drink it after 6pm. But for the last few days I've upped my green tea and am drinking the last one around 6pm rather than normal tea.

And I just have't been able to sleep! :noway:

Just wondering if its the green tea, or perhaps something less obvious.............

Thanks, Anna :flowerforyou:

Yup, there is caffeine in green tea...not as much as coffee, but it's in there. They do sell decaf green tea though:)

Green tea definitely has caffeine but not as much as black tea. Don't have it so late in the day.

Green tea has caffeine not sure how much. I drink a really nice flavoured tea camomile vanilla and honey before bed. If you look at the different kinds of flavoured teas they say on when they don't have any caffeine in.

Per the side of my box of green tea there are 20 mg of caffeine per 8 oz serving in green tea versus 55 mg for black tea. I stick with an herbal tea in the evenings or a decaf variety.
