I drink chamomile when I need something soothing for my tummy. It helps with stomach troubles...bloating, gas, indigestion AND its caffeine free!

I drink various teas for various medicinal reasons at various times of the year. Here's a list of the teas I drink and their medicinal values.

Burdock to help expel uric acid which can lead to joint calcification (arthritis) and muscle and joint pain, digestion, intestinal health, good source of protein
    Chickweed for mild constipation
Dandelion for detoxification, blood purification, digestion, elimination, and anemia, increases insulin production
Milk thistle to cleanse and restore the liver
    Green tea for antioxidants
Ginseng to help combat aging as well as fatigue (avoid if you have inflammatory conditions, bronchitis, high blood pressure or if you take other stimulants)
Echinacea when I feel a cold coming on (do not take for more than six consecutive weeks)
Plantain to aid in the digestion of food
Pau D'arco to help build iron in the blood
Parsley to cleanse the glands, liver and gallbladder
Oatstraw to help strengthen the immune system, stabilize the thyroid and soothe nerves
    Stinging nettle for allergies
    Marshmallow for gastritis
Lemongrass for its sweet soothing taste (usually with green tea)
    Horsetail for wound healing
    Hawthorn for good heart health
Oolong to help metabolize fats and fight colds
Fresh ginger root for nausea, chills, and to increase metabolism (avoid if you have peptic ulcers)
Dong Quai to help relieve muscle aches, stabilize estrogen/progesterone, regulate digestion, clear liver toxins, aid in digestion, aid in tissue repair, strengthen immunity, and increase chi (avoid if you have diabetes)
Astragalus balances bodily fluids, is a heart tonic, invigorate the immune responses, enhances the healing properties of other herbs (I usually drink with green tea and ginseng)
Alfalfa (the father of all foods) contains all eight essential amino acids and is a complete protein, is a natural laxative, improves digestion, cleanses the entire system, and is excellent as an aid for weight loss
    Suma for energy and endurance
Slippery Elm to help prevent disease
    Senna as a powerful laxative
Saw Palmetto to fight fat, improve digestion, and regulate hormone balance
Sarsaparilla to deep cleanse the entire body of toxins, and stimulate metabolisms which enhances the utilization of fats, carbs, proteins and nutrients in the body (don't use if you have kidney or liver weakness)
Jasmine for its delicate taste and aroma

I would recommend Teavana as well. At the shop I go to the employees are very knowledgeable about the different types of teas out there. For herbal teas I enjoy chamomile and lavender tea, very relaxing brews. I also only brew loose leaf tea, the bags are convenient enough but because they are filled with pretty much just dust, the loose leaf brew is much more flavorful. Hope this helps.
