Good morning Ladies! I had to get an early start. We have a packed day! I did 45 minutes of Fat burning Taebo. I have been so sore the last several days from working out. I'm wondering if I need a day off, but I have a hard time not over eating when I do that.
Today's goals:
Taebo-Done!
Clean up house (had kids over yesterday. Whew!)
Drink as much water as I can!
The speech therapist is coming this morning, then we are going to the neurologist this afternoon (I'm really excited about this appointment!) then we have church tonight if Alex can handle that much. It's going to be a full day!
Happy exercising!

Morning! That is one busy day mechanicmom! Wow!!

Yesterday I met my goal of not eating any junk food! Yay!! Today that will be the biggest goal again. I really want to make it to my half way point and I keep yo-yoing. I get down to 195lbs then I binge and go back to 200lbs :grumble: Just keep going back and fourth. Half way is 182.5lbs. I really want to keep in tune so I can get there!

Today I may do the 30day shred, Im not up to exercise today. Hopefully I can push myself to do that at least! haha

So, today is Bikram and (maybe. . .) walking there. (weather depending)

Big milestone for me yesterday. . .I had to buy a smaller bra. I know this is something that some women complain about, but this means I'm losing body fat %, which makes me excited, because for me, those girls are the last things to go anywhere. My band size has gone down a lot over this process, but this is the first time (in 85ish lbs. . .) my cup size has gone down. So, I'm now "only" an E. Woot. I also noticed at the gym that I was pulling up my pants a lot, so it's probably time to buy smaller workout pants. The scale remains in the storage closet. (Mel, is yours still in your closet? )

So, today is water (water, water, water!) and vits and yoga (oh my!)

    Happy workouts, ladies!:flowerforyou:

I'm back from Fort Worth and back to my normal exercise - it's good to see y'all again.

Yesterday, I walked and did elliptical. Today is walking, weight class, and yoga.

An interesting thing happened when I didn't want to teach yoga last Saturday. I asked the fitness director how I ask for a sub. Turns out I wasn't on the sub list (even though I asked to be on it). Now I'm on it and the gym needs subs - all the time. I signed up for 4 classes (in August and September) from just this past weekend. I even got called while in Fort Worth asking me to sub. I don't foresee me not getting my yoga in this summer.

All this sub work is making me consider getting a "group fitness" certification. I'll have to think about the Cooper's Clinic personal trainer certification again along with their group fitness certifications. I'll have to learn more about skeletal and muscular systems first. For those that don't know, Dr Cooper, of Cooper's Clinic in Dallas, invented the word aerobics. People have hated him ever since:wink:

V- are you doing yoga 3X a week? Are you noticing more of a change because of this?

Good morning! The weather here is quite a bit cooler so I went out for a walk this morning.

Carrie... yay for no junk food yesterday! You can do it!

Viviakay... congratulations on the smaller bra purchase. I can relate to that... yeah, some gals don't want those to shrink, but I sure do!

MM... I hope you can catch a break during your busy day! Good luck with the neurologist appointment... I hope it all goes well!

    Mary... Welcome back!

    Today's plan...
    --Walk
    >Done! 2.7 very brisk miles
--Push ups (I am adding this to my daily routine... I did 10 girlie pushups after my walk... will do more tonight)
    --Lots of water
--Walk after dinner tonight + more pushups... maybe I can do 20 more!

Natalie I'm one of those girls that doesn't want the "girls" to shrink but sadly, they seem to be the first to go!

I did Turbo Jam again and it's raining-4 inches expected today-so I'm cooking and cleaning and baking.

    Welcome back Mary!

    Mary,
Yep. . .I'm crediting more yoga. I was doing weights 3x a week and yoga 1 or 2x a week, and I switched up that ratio. I've also not been wearing my HRM to yoga and estimating that it burns 450 calories a session. (this is the lowest estimate I find for bikram). So, I may be working at a bigger deficit on yoga days. I feel like my fat is "loosening" (the only term I can think to describe it) My skin looks like a slightly baggy sweater (gross visual, I know. . .) and I've heard that "jiggly fat" is a sign your body is about to lose fat. There are lots of factors. . .the heat in the class. . .the additional stress relief I'm getting from it. I've also noticed that my appetite has been different. I get hungrier more often, but eat less at a sitting.

Funny you should mention the group fitness certification. I'm seriously considering getting certified to teach spinning. This is mostly due to a desire to find a class with music I like that's not so "sprinty". . .I've thought about doing it before, but not as seriously as currently.

I continue to experiment with the whole calorie thing. Currently, I've set myself at maintenance calories, but for 130 lbs (I'm now somewhere between 135-140ish) (but 130 is what I should weigh with the old "100 lbs for five feet, and five pounds for each additional inch" rule, so I'm trying it ). I'm also eating what I want (obviously resisting the urge to eat an entire chocolate cake) including foods that are not "optimal" choices. but trying to stick to the "foods my great grandmother would recognize" rule.

I love that rule, except of course, stuff like pig's feet. My grandfather loved pigs feet.

I also meant are you noticing an increase in flexibility, etc.? I have a theory that 1 time a week keeps you at maintenance flexibility, 2x a week is a slow increase, 3 or more times is a quick increase - to a certain point, of course.

Huge increase in flexibility. I was showing my husband "hands to feet pose" and just went right over, with my chest to my thighs. . .something I could never accomplish before. Also, I'm starting to be able to backbend in "camel pose". . .something that made me feel as if I would puke at any second a month ago. It's still my least favorite pose. . .it literally makes me cry sometimes.

I also feel "longer", noticing I'm getting more extension in dance class (my arms feel like they lengthen more from my joints).

Eeek. pig's feet. EEEEEEK! I'm a squeamish carnivore, and hate my food to look like an animal. (I also call this a "hypocritical carnivore". . .)

Yes, my scale is in the closet still. I don't think I am going to pull it out! I hope not. It will probably ruin it for me. Thankfully my shorts are falling off this morning! That's all the motivation I need!

    Hi All!

Just enough time for a quick check-in before my nephew gets here -- gotta build a fort, take him to the beach, AND get in some bumper cars at the Santa Monica Pier. Whew!!!!

    Today:
Burned 1000 calories at the gym -- 10 min cardio, 45 min weights, 45 min cardio. My HR was up the whole time; I think I'm out of shape a bit from not working out hard on the road

    Goals:
    No sugary stuff
    Drink lots of water
    Get in the water!!

I'm trying to make the most of my few days here in town.

MWD and Vivia, I wish I could get my love of yoga back again. It seems to have slipped away...hoping I start wanting to get back into it. I find myself thinking that I should do it, but not excited about it...

Well, I submitted my final competition paperwork today. :blushing: I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing... this suddenly got very real! I spent the entire day typing, editing and printing copies. So, no formal exercise, but I had a lower calorie day and managed to stay on track.

I want brownies soooo bad, but they're not worth coming in 1st runner up! Any good & healthy chocolate ideas that are small portions? I'm still a botom-of-the-bag girl, so only one or two servings please!

Busy day so I'm last to post, just running around getting stuff set up for the farmers market, I do baked goods, but it rained and hardly anyone came:sad: . Put most of it in the freezer and will dole it out to the family. I don't usually touch it if goes into the freezer.

Got all my waters in, and was constantly moving today but no formal exercise, unless you count running with my daughter's dog for 20 minutes, he a puppy and we tried to tire him out before he had to go back into his crate. She was getting home late and we did the feeding and playing today.

Tomorrow is a field trip but maybe I can squeeze a walk in while they do their tour. Hoping it doesn't rain. I'm alittle sick of it.
