New Year's Resolution Success?

We're almost to the end of March, the end of the first quarter – time to check in on where we are on our New Years Resolutions!

Did you make any?
Have you stuck to yours?
Did you already accomplish yours?
If not – anything you could have done, or will do different?
If yes – lets hear about it!!

I'll start - I had 3 major resolutions.
#1 - “Run home” to NY. Basically to log 606 miles on a virtual trip back to my home state.
#2 – Complete five 5k's in 2011
#3 – Register for a half marathon to be completed in 2012.
(I'd love to have a #4 here, but realistically, I'm not going to hit my goal weight by May, short of starving myself, so that one has been moved to a 2012 resolution)

Where am I?
#1 – I am (as of this morning) 158.2 miles into my trip. I am 6.7 miles ahead of schedule and just outside of Blacksburg, VA (virtually, or course). Also, I changed this goal to include all miles logged on the treadmill, elliptical, bike, stationary bike & outdoor track I run on. Basically, all miles logged on my 2 legs counts! lol! Here is the map of my trip and where I was as of yesterday:

#2 – I have found all five races I'm going to enter. I'll list them to keep myself accountable (I've done the same thing on Facebook)
*April 16th - Christian McCreary Memorial 5k (proceeds benefit my local Humane Society) – already registered.
*June 17th – Night Race, Miles of Mooresville – ran this last year.
*July 15th – Night Race, Miles of Mooresville
*August 20th – Old Soldiers 5k (proceeds benefit my local VA)
*October 1st – Susan G Komen Race for the Cure (obvious proceeds benefit)

#3 – I have found the half marathon I'm going to run next year....“Charity Chase” and is run right here in my town! Proceeds benefit local charities. It is held in May so I have a little over a year to prepare. I plan to run this one with my SIL and my brother, it's easier (for me) to stay accountable if I have someone else registering for it too! Registration opens for 2012 in the fall, as soon as it's open I'll have my name on the list!

So – lets hear it – what is YOUR resolution status??

I love your virtual race, that is sooo cool :) I made my goal more general, to work out at least 3 times a week and make better nutrition choices. I've always wanted to run a 5k, not so much for the the running (never liked it before) but to earn my own t-shirt. I will run/walk/crawl my first 5k in 2 weeks and I look forward to completing more this year and seeing the times (and my weight) improve :)

DOTY - WTG on the smoking!!! That's a HUGE one! And already down a size?? You're doing great!:flowerforyou:

ngolston - Is your 5k on April 16th?? Finishing is all that matters in that first race :) it's way less pressure bc you don't feel like you have a time to "beat" lol Good luck!! :flowerforyou:

LOVE the virtual run home idea. Very cool!

    1) Quit smoking by the end of the year - MET!! I quit 3 weeks ago!
    2) Run a 5K in June - I actually added to this - run a 5K per month starting in June through November.
    3) Lose 62 pounds by December 22.5% there....A work in progress.

My biggest thing was to give up putting sugar in my coffee. I know that seems minor, but I was drinking 6 cups of coffee a day with cream and sugar those calories were adding up.

I cut out coffee for 2 weeks and went back to it with only cream. It has helped me a lot.

I did want to create a habit of execise and I think I am there.

I also want to lose 50lbs my Dec 31st. I'm making good progress to that.
