I am having a problem, as I have before, I am not supposed to eat Fat free foods, or anything with High Frutose corn suryp. WHat can I eat then, I have a pretty good menu but it gets boring, I end up eating the same things every day and thats just not eating. so if any one has any ideas on how to eat when u need to loose weight and not be fat free help.. I know this sounds strange but my body stores the sugars in my STOMACH... the food choices the dr gave me are HIGH PROTEIN LOW CARB... meaning WHOLE GRAINS at 100 cals a meal.... UGH... but pizza is still on the list but I LOVE salads but Cannot eat fat free dressings... NOW I know why Im not loosing weight but come on what does a person eat. thanks for the vent. The suggested foods are to help me loose weight but I am not inventive when it comes to recipies so its just hard....

You could try reduced fat or low cal foods?! I'm not sure what you're able to eat...It is really hard to lose weight when you're limited in what you can eat, it just gets boring... I'm sorry I couldn't really help.:ohwell:

So eat regular dressing.....it's gonna have more calories and fat....but you may just have to make allowances for that. You can still loose weight eating completely whole, regular food (meaning not reduced fat, or fat free). It will just take up more of your calories then the other versions.

Also, eat regular cheese. You have to remember most foods that are light/fat free are very processed to become that way.

Excellent salad dressing recipe I use all the time. It's made out of non fat yogurt, there is a big difference between something that has been made ff and something that is naturally non fat. Alot of times the fat in items such as dressings etc is replaced by high fructose corn syrup.
1 envelope dry ranch dressing mix
1 cup non fat plain yogurt (I use Dannon)
    1 cup 1% milk.
The recipe on the envelope calls for 1 cup millk and 1 cup mayo, but I replace the mayo w/yogurt and it's wonderful!!!!

If possible, buy regular healthy foods, fruits, veggies, whole grain cereals, pastas, rice etc. and don't even think that your missing out by not being able to buy fat free foods.

Just an example but last nights dinner was 1 chicken breast, 1 cup whole wheat rigatoni noodles, 1/2 cup of natural jar pasta sauce and 1 cup brussel sprouts sprinkled w/parmesan cheese with watermelon for dessert. It was filling and satisfying.

Lunch today at work is celery sticks w/that salad dressing recipe for dip. Whole wheat w/ham and slice of skim mozarella cheese sandwich that I also put lettuce, tomato and slice of onion on....used stone ground mustard , then again watermelon. Snacks have been small apple and skim milk mozarella cheese stick for morning, strawberries and 1/2 cup of that plain non fat yogurt mixed w/teaspoon of honey will be afternoon snack.

Will only have a little time at home tonight so dinner will be a Kashi whole grain pizza..I eat half and hubby eats half, it's small(they are GOOD) with a salad and some kind of fruit for dessert.

Try to get away from prepackaged foods, mixes etc if possible.

Good luck, I know how hard it is to change your shopping list, but you can do it!!!!!

I know it sounds crazy and disgusting, but you can also try to mix the dry ranch packet with 2% cottage cheese as a dip. It's way better for you than the milk and mayo that the package suggests and it's really delicious! I use that as a dip because it's way healthier, only approx 100 calories for half a cup I think.

Kraft has a new line of salad dressings that are made with olive oil. They're full fat but it's good fat :)

oooohhh...that sounds very good. Do you put into a blender and whiz it up? How much cottage cheese do you use? 2 cups?
