Embarrassing but actually motivating!

Last Saturday we went to the circus and while we were in line for the elephant ride my baby girl mentioned to me very sweetly..."Mommy, maybe you shouldn't ride the elephant because you might hurt his back."
As embarrassing as that was, it does give me A LOT of extra motivation. I don't want my kids to see me that way. It does me wonder what they though of me 69lbs ago!
I actually didn't hurt my feelings and I was able to laugh about it. You know, 8 months ago I would have been devastated by that remark; but I know that in another 8 months my girls are going to have the same mommy inside, but a completely new one outside!
Let me add that I did tell her that she shouldn't say things like that, because it could hurt someone's feelings in the future!

That sounds like something my kids would say!! I just want to add though, You WON'T be the same mommy on the inside either...you will have more energy to play, run and enjoy them more which will make you a HAPPIER mommy!0

Sounds like my kids, rubbing my belly asking if there's a baby in there! (Even though they know I can not have any more)
Kids are brutally honest sometimes!0 -
You're awesome! The straw that broke the camels back for me (pun intended) was last year, when I went to my Son's 1st T-ball practice I was the fat mom. It was awful. I never want to feel that way again. Three cheers for you're kids motivating you!!0

My 5 year old keeps me motivated. She is always telling me how wobbly i am. Kids say it as it is. Good you can laugh about it.0

The one thing about kids is they will give you a level of honesty that wr lose as adultd, which is okay because we need those filters (could you imagine if we all said everything that came to mind). I think your attitude is great, she wasn't being mean and you used something that could hurt to make a positive change... that's great"0
