i love fall....when the days are tolerably warm but the evenings start to get crisp.....

    Exactly!!!

That means it's football season and you get to cozy up under a blanket with your hubby......night fall games are the best down here in the south!!

Oh man! You just reminded me of the one thing that ruins Fall for me! FOOTBALL! LOL! I don't mind it but my hubby is an INSANE Washington Redskins fan. His rational thought goes COMPLETELY out the window during football season! SIGH!!! LOL! He's already talking about the first pre-season game!

I agree!! i'm in minnesota, and we dont have long summers, but they are HOT and HUMID!! I love fall, i like digging my sweaters and jeans out, going to watch football, the smell of the changing leaves...EVERYTHING! Then comes winter and I want to move!! haha

LOL! Yeah, as bad as Winters are HERE (The Nor 'Easters)....they have to be BRUTAL there! We are so picky! Fall, sweater weather...coziness....but keep the frigid temps and keep the humidity...just make it perfect!

Hmm, California weather is pretty close to being perfect for me!! When we were in Santa Barbara, during the day was warm.....like mid-80s but not humid at all....breezy....and in the evening it actually get's pretty chilly! We actually had the heater on in the car one evening! But man....that is perfect for me. Perfect sleeping weather.

I agree! we went to San Diego six years ago..and it was mid 70's all week..it was perfect!!!

I love college ball, I can't wait for the season to start....even though when I go to an LSU game early in the season it's all tank tops and shorts because it's still sizzling out!!

have to admit, we don't get summer here in Scotland, so i don't see what all the fuss is about

however, also being a November child means i love autumn (it's called autumn people!)

especially October when i spent my childhood holidays in the highlands, where it was generally just starting to snow and was very Golden. no snow now though, change in the jet stream means it is just generally wet all year (except August when the sun comes out we get very long evenings and the Festival is on in edinburgh, bliss).

I LOVE the summer, but your right about the humidity, I hate the days when you can just see it hanging in the air. Fall is nice, but when your in Canada, it just means it's closer to the days when it's too cold. I hibernate in the winter because I can't take that icy cold wind!

Well, I can understand why you do not like summer. But I LOVE SUMMER! L! O! V! E!!!!!!!!! SUMMER!!!
The fruit the fresh and veggies, the trips to the lake, the picnics,
the warm and yet cool summer evenings on the boat with the halyards slapping on the mast making that hollow and low clang clang clang sound.
The longer days! The flowers and EVERYTHING IS GREEN! I even LOVE the smell of Suntan lotion so much so that it is my NORMAL perfume!
    MmmMMmmMmmmMmmmMmmmMmmMMmmmm
DID I SAY I LOVE SUMMER?!?!
    If I did not

    I LOVE SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :glasses: :smooched: :smooched: :smooched: :smooched: :smooched: :smooched:
Now I also happen to have SD (seasonal depresion) and the winter is not that happy a time for me.
I do not like the cold it HURTS ME!
(Sigh) One of these days I will move back to Florida.

Not all California weather is nice. I am from the Los Angeles area where usually your summer days are always in the 100's and the evenings may cool down to 80 degrees if your luck, then add in the lovely smog that is about a foot thick. It is always nicer temps at the beach locations but not inland. We moved to Colorado almost 2 years ago & we LOVE IT!!! Love the unpredictable weather. Summer days tend to stay in the 80's and 90's but usually always cool down at night and I love the thunderstorms and showers we get in the summer. I can't wait for fall either though I love it!

Bear with me. I need to whine a sec!

It always seems that around this time in the Summer, I suddenly get tired of Summer and start looking forward to the Fall! Maybe because I LOVE Fall around here!!! So many fun things to do in New England and I am just tired of the heat and humidity. I always love Spring...but the perfect Spring weather just doesn't last very long around here. SIGH! And the humidity makes me cranky and gives me migraines....and it makes my son cranky.

So yes...I know a lot of you probably LOVE Summer...but I am done..and ready for the first cool, fresh day of Fall....AHHHHHHHHH!!! I want to wear a cozy sweater go pumpkin pickin!

Thanks! All done whining now!! :)

    -Tam :flowerforyou: :drinker:

Not a problem Tam, whine away! I agree 100%... summer is too hot for me. I adore fall because all of the trees change colors, its absolutely gorgeous. Easily the very best time to go hiking and cycling.

I love autumn or fall in the Carolinas, the cool days and crisp nights, the harvest moon. The calm seas on most days - and the gentle crashing ashore of a hurricane about every 5 years. But seriously folks, I am ready for a cooldown. Last year I was riding 15 miles on my bike and nearly had a heat stroke climbing a hill. Since then I don't mess around when it is near 100 here. Steamed Oysters anyone?
