Love/hate relationship with weekends...

Does anyone else struggle with weekend eating and staying on top of workouts? I love weekends and all, but I hate that temptation of wanting to throw caution to the wind and just 'enjoy' myself instead of staying on track with what I eat and actually making an effort to get a workout in. I cook for a family of 6 all week and I have to say, the last thing I want to do on the weekends is cook some more, you know? I'm going to try to make some healthy meals ahead of time before the weekend and hopefully that will help me avoid the takeout temptations. Any other suggestions about how to stay the course??

  • I struggle with weekends also. One thing that has helped me is weigh in on Monday mornings. It helps me keep the mind set of doing well all weekend because I know Im finishing it off with a weigh in. When I weighed in on Fridays in the begining I always felt like I could treat myself to a weekend of over eating and then I would end up right back where I was.... But Im always up for good ideas for the weekend!

It is so easy to revert back and negate all the hard work during the week because of weekends. I started this website after the scale was up 5lbs on a monday morning three weeks ago. It is really difficult to resist all the temptations, food....booze, but I have decided if I'm going to get serious about losing these last stubborn pounds I need to put myself into check. I've been learning that weekends are not a free pass to do whatever I want...although it does make me sad sometimes when others are indulging but I know I am going to feel better about myself later.
On mondays I log all my food and exercise through sunday that way I already know what I have to do to stay within my calorie range. I also try and workout extra hard so that I can have more to eat or drink. I've given myself one cheat day but I try not to go over too much and I like having it on saturdays so I can workout sunday and feel better about it.
Planning ahead is key!! I lost 2lbs last week and I actually feel much better than I have in a while!
    Good luck.....and don't deprive yourself....everything in moderation!
