Hi- today I got my polar HRM and tried it out. I wore my bodymedia fit armband at the same time and the HRM estimated my exercise calories higher.

Is this common?

Which one do you think is more accurate? I was wanting to just wear the HRM while exercising and not wear the armband anymore, so do you think the HRM estimates high?

Anyone else with this issue?

I have noticed the same thing -- your BodyBugg is more accurate because it is actually measuring more than just your heart rate. Its depressing, but it is true! I have a Body Media and was not too terribly happy to see the low burns on some of my strength training workouts!

The bodybugg is probably more accurate, because it is up to date with your weight, caloric intake, base metabolic level, etc...

That is in line with most user's results, including my own.
  • I don't think the Body Bugg is measuring your heart rate at all, but I am not sure.

when you use the HRM do you just subtract some calories for entering your workouts?? I think it got about 70-80 calories higher than the bodybugg :(
