im so confused.
I would like to lose 1.5 - 2 pounds per week. i was at 1450 a day and bruning 500 calories - not eating them but eating the balance before i excercised. how is that not enough food? it doesnt make sense to me. I decided to let MFP set my goals and for that loss i am at 1540 i dont understand how i can lose anything if you are supposed to burn more than you eat....i cannot wrap my head around this weight loss math

You're not supposed to burn more than you eat. You are supposed to eat less than your body needs to maintain your current weight. MFP has that deficit built in for you.
But others have explained it better than I.
