I have just entered the details for my weight training session this morning and it hasn't given me a 'calories burned' amount. Does strength training not get a calorie value or am I doing something wrong?? I would hate to think the 1 hr heavy weights I got up to do with my PT at 5am today didn't burn any calories!!

you need to set it up as cardivascular, and do a google search to see how many calories your workout burn, then set it up as a custom exersise, i called mine circut training since i do a series of machines0

It's very hard to estimate how many calories you burn from weight training.
It depends on the weights used, the intensity of the work out, the amount of breaks between each set, etc.
It's safe to say that an hour of working out with light weights with short breaks can burn about 250-400 calories.0 -
While you are obviously burning calories throwing all those weights around, unfortunately this site does not include those in your totals. I have seen one suggestion where some folks simply take about the same amount of time and put that in under cardio moderate pace, like a slow jog or fast walk. This of course depends on how much rest time you take in between your exercises. Strength training used to be thought of as basically anaerobic exercise but now many folks are really huffing and puffing and mixing aerobic exercises in there. As long as your heart rate is up, etc.0

it can be selected under the cardio section (search weight lifting/strength traning) and will show a # of calories burned..how accurate that is, Idk.0

Agreed. But to better gauge how much calories you're expending, it's a good idea to get a heart-rate monitor (HRM) that also indicates calories burned.0
