My personal trainer told me that my metabolism is 45% lower than it should be-and basically told me i'm starving:frown: as a result, he told me that I need to increase my healthy fats to make up for the low calories and this will help my metabolism get back on track. I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this for themselves, and if so, how has it worked for you? I try to keep my carbs under 100g a day, and my protein around 100g too. thanks guys!

well I am not iun the gym yet but my bfriend tells me to eat as much protien as I want because if you are active you need it to stay afloat. He does work out and has a trainer and hes a healthy 200 which for his body frame looks damn good on him :) Ill have to look into the fat intake. I do know I run over from time to time and yet I was losing weight at a slow yet steady rate before I got sick.... long story but Ill be back in the ring soon! THanks for sharing this info:glasses:

Yes, fat is absolutely essential for health!! It is good for brain function, muscle development and to ward off depression that comes with dieting! I eat 30-40% of my daily calories in fat. Olive oil, nut butter, almonds, salmon, 2% greek yogurt...these are my main sources of fat.
