Hi Vee. You can do this. Counting cals is THE way to go. Just look at my ticker!

What I have learned, and what you will read on the threads, is that the less weight you have to lose, the slower and harder it seems. For me, I started trying to lose 2 lb a week with a calorie intake of 1200 calories plus exercise calories. But the same 3 lb kept going up and down. Then I decided to be reasonable and go to losing 0.5 lb a week, which gave me about 250 calories more to eat. Now I don't always eat ALL my exercise calories, but I definitely take a chunk of them. I eat about 1450 to 1550 on non-exercise days, and about 250 to 300 of my exercise calories. It's WORKING!!!! Just some thoughts as you try out this site and play with it. Every person is different and you have to find what works for you. Something also that helped me was joining the "No Late Night Snack" group and getting under control my binging in the evenings after having a good eating day. You can do it!

You can check my food diary. Since you're in the UK, I would really recommend Dorset Muesli or you can make your own. Just 1/4 cup with half a cup of milk does me really well. Love the stuff. Helps with everything. But check out my food diary....you'll see that I try to stay under 1400 cals a day most of the time, I plan out my "okay" snacks which would be to you - gherkins (aka Kosher Dill Pickles), popcorn, dorset cereal, etc. Plan out your meals and your snacks and stay under the 1400 rang-ish.

MMMmmmmm. One of my favorites as well!! (re toast with butter... well, soy butter anyway... or even olive oil... YUM!!!) MFP has helped me lose the five pounds that I wanted to lose. I couldn't do it otherwise. It's been a great resource and I appreciate the support from like-minded people on this site! Good luck to you!! Hope MFP is just as successful for you!!

I am checking your food diary in a minute...and tomorrow morning I am off to get Dorset muesli and see how it goes. That's one of my big mistakes, not having breakfast...I am just not hungry in the mornings!!!!!!!!

Indeed it is here.. I have tried so so so many diets...it is UNREAL! Now I am going with a healthier approach to eating and letting the chips fall where they may! Hopefully..........down the hill opposed to UP the hill! (If you get my point) Starting the Points Plus with WW......looking for my scale to show progress! Good luck to you all!!!

Do not mention chips!!!!!! With salt and vinegar...yum yum...I am so hungry right now!!!!!

I am trying to eat healthily instead of going mad about a proper diet, and forcing myself to have breakfast is actually helping!!!! I am not that hungry at 11am and eating rubbisg to compensate...

Let me know how it's going!!!!!! :flowerforyou:
