Should I change my goal?

when I first decided to lose weight, it was all a number game. I was 188-190ish when I began, now I'm down to 165-166. I was a tiny 130 in highschool- my original goal was to be that size again, a size 7. Between december(when I started losing) and now I have realized that it's not about that ugly number the scale tells you, it's about how you feel. I've gone from a size 16-18 to almost a 10.
but all my friends and family are worried about me becoming too obsessed with this and I've had problems in my past about drawing lines. I always cross them. They think I wont stop and I'll get an eating disorder.
I'm wondering if I should keep going and try to drop to a healthy BMI, which is 140 lbs, or if I should change my goal to a certain pant size, and stay there. that way I'm not obsessing with being as skinny as highschool, or what number the scale says.
Any opinions, any advice on what my goals should be, where my mind should be, or making sure I just dont cross the line between healthy and obsessed?

who gives a damn what family friends strangers say!! you need to find out for yourself what you want to weigh.... i would go more for the pants size then a number on the scale! so if you want to be a size 7 then thats your goal you never stop becuase when you do you will start gaining so its healhty to care and want to be the best at your wt loss. your real goal is to be toned at a size 7 versus flabby at a size seven so focus on how tight you can be versus how skinny0

To be honest, do what is best for you - that's really all you can do, and hopefully learn from your mistakes. I personally say screw the scale, there isn't enough enjoyment that I get out of it, however I do get enjoyment out of knowing that I can fit back into my skirts and corsets to look sexy!
Depending on your height, I'm 5'6" and I'm looking to be about 135-130 for my final goal. I've seen people my height who are 115 or even 120 and they look extremely unhealthy, chicken legs/arms and you can see their ribs when they wear a bikini It's not sexy at all! - I am also end up changing up my plan once I get down to 140, I may see that I like the way I am and decide to stop!
I'd be happy with a size8-10pant size!0
