Pole Class

I used to go to exotic moves and pole classes a lot, but I never accounted for the calories burned. I just found out that my friend is having a private pole party class for her birthday at the studio and I'm going. Does anyone know how many calories are burned during the sessions?

I just count it as light aerobics to be conservative0

Hi, I would assume you could still classify it as dancing general or even belly dancing under the cardio section of the exercise tab. I was playing around with it and for an hour of general dancing, it burned 260 calories.....try that maybe??0

I haven't done it for a while, but I found it didn't burn a lot of calories because there seemed to be a lot of standing around to get instruction, and even when we were moving, it was pretty quick moves that were over very quickly. I think it's more of a "toning" type over say "cardio" where you're working your muscles but not really getting the heart rate up too high. I'd compare it more to yoga than dancing.0
