What do you think about Fasting?

I have been fasting since Monday, and I plan to do it all week. All I do is drink water, protein shakes(one a day), and apple juice. What do you think about fasting for a week (7days)? Is that to much?

Personally, I love to eat too much to fast! You have to listen to your body. If it tells you its time to eat...listen to it. If you still have energy and feel good, keep it up.0

I like the occasional fast. It clears my mind and makes me feel lighter. I usually do single-day fasts but once did a 10-day. Around day 7 I started to feel yucky so a week sounds alright to me!

ooooh i totally agree!!!! be careful of that apple juice tho...you should be drinking pure fresh pressed juice, no sugar added. it contains fibre and is recommended for fasting. i think if you make that switch your fast will be even more successful....good luck!!!!!0 -
I'm skeptical about fasting. It does have its benefits for a few days, but I think that if you do if for too long or too often you can completely throw off you metabolism. Your body will burn slower if it doesn't think it has the energy from intake to burn . . . if that makes any sense. I think you'd be better off doing the shakes and eating loads of veggies and beans. 4 cups of raw spinach is packed with nutrients and has only 20 calories, you top that with 100 calories of protien and no dressing you have a very full 120 calorie meal.0

I did a 30 hour one to start this journey on Jan 1st. Just drank water. I think it was a good detox for me. I can't imagine going much longer than that though!0

i fast one day a week during lent. i did a 7-day fast last year and consumed half my calories in liquid. it was a great spiritual experience for me and really helped break some of my food addictions. i wish you well!0

I did a water fast for 12 days.. I liked it, felt good, and clears your body and mind. Ppl wonder how? I was not hunger nor did I feel bad.... If it works for you...then wonderful. You are not supposed to do this too often or for long periods of time however:)0

Fasting is a silly fad, unless it's done for some sort of philosophical reason of some sort.0
