MFP has guidelines on that if you change the options or settings in your food diary. Can't remember exactly what you click on to do that, but if you play around, you'll probably find it. I think it is very helpful to see where I'm at with my fat and fiber and protein, but in the end, keeping the main target as calories has been most helpful because it's really hard to fully and properly balance your diet every single day! At least, for me it is! :) Good luck!

    A balanced diet consists of
Carbs between 45 and 60% of total calories
Protein between 15 and 30% of total calories
Fat between 20 and 30% of total calories

Go to Foods than settings.. you can chose what you would like to track.. I track my carbs, sodium, fat, sodium and protein.. Sodium is important because it can cause you to retain water..
sugar can be a tricky one to track as sugars from fruit and veggies are good for you.. im always over on sugar but I know its the good sugars so I stopped tracking my sugar after a few weeks.. knowing I am good there!
    Hope this helps!
    good luck!

I try to eat clean and healthy stuff, but just really watch calories. I watch the sodium some because by logging I've found too much makes me retain a lot of water

Click My home... goals... to see what it has set for you. If you want to customize your numbers you can do so from there,
To change what's tracked in your food diary click my home... settings..diary settings... and pick the items you want to track.

You really need to start from the FDA Basics, then LEARN yourself, that's the key to success. The basics on here say a balanced diet is 45-60% carbs...but if I eat that much carbs in other than LOW GLYCEMIC Veggies or Beans I would "Explode." Also, I need more protein than normal. I use South Beach as a Guideline, Phase 2
