I have a friend who has recently lost a ton of weight and looks amazing! She has decided to get rid of all her big clothes and guess what? She's giving them to me so that when I get down to a 14(hopefully in the next two months) I won't have to buy new clothes!

SO I won't have to buy clothes until I'm pretty close to my target weight :-) Doesn't hurt that she has an amazing wardrobe either!

That's super awesome!! I'm getting to the point where I need to buy new clothes...at least jeans because my pants are sagging.

Love it!!! I'm doing the same with a friend... My "old" clothes are now in her closet... And she happend to have a whole other wardrobe in MY NEW SMALLER size that i'm borrowing until I get even smaller!!

It's great to have friends who can swap wardrobes around. :)
  • That's lucky! Thankfully I still have some clothes (mostly jeans) that will fit when I lose weight. if not, I'd be stuck with baggy clothes ^^"

That's a nice perk. The one downfall about losing weight is possibly not fitting into clothes that you had to buy because you've already lost so much weight. But then again, that's what they have clearance and thrift shops for ;) It's nice to have a goal that you can actually see and feel. GOOD LUCK!

I sell my old clothes on ebay. I have like 20+ items for sale right now. I lose more weight, I make more money.

A couple of months ago I sent out an email to some of my friends and asked them if they had anything in my size because I refuse to buy clothes until I lose the weight. They were excited because it meant that they could get rid of their 'bigger' sizes.

Once I reach my goal weight and maintain it for a while, I plan to pass my clothes on to a couple of friends. I do NOT plan to see size 16 again. :-)

I still have lots of clothes from when I was skinnier but they tend to skip sizes, like I stay in one size way longer then I should have and have to jump up two sizes when I shop!
Like right now I still haven't gone down a size after losing 21lbs because I was pushing maximum capacity in my 18's! LOL

I have a network for this between cities even....my sister's friend is losing, gives to my sister (who is smaller than me and goes through and pics what she likes, then I get to go through it, then my aunt goes through it....3 different cities so far). My son's clothes come from my friend for him, and then go back to her for her youngest. Her daughters clothes go to my daughter and then they go to my neice and get passed down from there. Other than underclothes and shoes I don't think I have actually paid for any clothes in the last 2 years....got to love it!!!

    Sweet!

Yea there really should be a "for sale" section on here. Clothing swap groups have started and all failed.

I can get anyone Turbo Fire new and sealed for $85 cdn + shipping ($9-15 depending on your location, Ontario is $9) just putting it out there, don't flame me ;)

    What's Turbofire?

Only the most popular Beachbody DVD system on MFP (P90x is a close competitor). It's $140 US on the infomercial.

OH! I hadn't heard of it!
I think I'm going to try out Paul Plakas's DVD, I just found out he has one and I'm super excited about it!

It's also GREAT that you two are on this journey!! I think it is awesome to see that so many of us want to get healthy and want to do what is right for our bodies!! In the "swap" you two are supporting each other and I wish that I had someone nearby to do this with me too (but all of my friends are already thin and healthy-I was the black sheep-lol)...oh wait! I DO have those people...RIGHT HERE!! Thanks for sharing your stories...it motivates me, because I have two pairs of Size 10 capri's that I am dying to wear this summer. Got so close to getting into them 4 yrs ago...so you're making me WANT IT!! xoxo
