Do any of you use vitamins/supplements for joint stiffness? I've been noticing that my right knee is "crunching" all of the time. It doesn't hurt at all, but I sound like some sort of squeaky gate whenever I'm doing anything that requires me to bend my knees. Quite distracting in yoga...all is quiet but the creaking of my knee!

Try some Glucosamine with MSM- you can read more about it here:

I do Glucosamine also but with Chondroitin instead of MSM. My knees are quieter now. :)

I don't since the research shows that glucosamine is useless and I don't believe there ever was any research showing the efficacy of chondroitin. It's expensive, comes in horse sized pills and not proven to work, so I can't see the point.

MSM is different--that actually does work. It's a natural anti-inflammatory. My mom has noticed HUGE improvement in her arthritis with this (it only took me 3 years to convince her to try it, but she finally did!).

Glycosaminoglycans have good research behind them for increasing joint lubrication. So they're worth a go.

ASU also looks quite promising, although there's not enough research yet to be sure.

An Omega 3 supplement might help to a small degree, as it has anti-inflammatory properties throughout the body.

My dog takes glucosamine, glycosaminoglycans, MSM, and an Omega 3 supplement. ( All the dog joint supplements have glucosamine, so I couldn't avoid it to get the other things I wanted for her.)

Thank you both. I'll look for these supplements this weekend.
