Target Heart Range

How does one go about figuring out their target heart range. I finally went out and bought a HRM, and it has a setting for minimum/maximum heart rate (w/ alarm) and I would like to be able to set it accuratley. I found a few sites on line w/ calculators, but they all came up with different numbers. Thanks for the info!!!

make sure you set it with your age, height and weight, etc. It will give you a general range based on that info. but, be sure to listen to your body too...

I already set it with my age and weight. It did give me a target range, but the calculators I found online were different than what the HRM says. I am trying to figure out if I should leave it alone, or adjust it. So I'm looking for anyone that knows how or where I can go to calculate my target heart range. Thanks for the info.0
