Anyone have any recommendations for low calorie italian meals? Italian food is a staple in my home, and I would love to be able to have a lower calorie version of some italian meals.

I saw a great recipe on here that substituted sliced zucchini for noodles in lasagna. That sounded pretty good. Lower carbs! Use fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, lowfat/non-fat riccotta or cottage cheese. Add beans (northern beans or other white beans) to add protein to the dish. It's really a casserole, but play it up like lasagna.0

i posted a chicken meatball with gnocchi recipe a while back, it's sooo good. actually, this reminds me i should make it again sometime soon.

Chicken parmesan - just top some chicken breasts (boneless skinless) with a little tomato sauce or spaghettie sauce of your choice, sprinkle with parm and top with a slice of light mozarella & put under the broiler. (no breading on the chicken)
You can also do the same thing with slice of zuchinni insead of chicken.
A little olive oil and fresh diced tomatoes & basil make a yummy sauce for whole wheat pasta.
Here's a light version of Pesto that I got from Hungry-girl.com
1 cup fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup fat-free ricotta cheese
2 tbsp. reduced-fat Parmesan-style grated topping
2 tbsp. pine nuts
1 tsp. olive oil
1 tsp. chopped garlic
1/4 tsp. salt, or more to taste
1/4 tsp. black pepper, or more to taste
Add all ingredients to food processor until smooth paste forms.0
