Hey everyone! When I first started MFP it wanted me to eat 1400 calories a day to lose weight, which worked AMAZINGLY! I was losing weight all over. However, when I lost my first 10 pounds MFP bumped my goal calories down to 1200 a day and I haven't lost any weight since Should I just bump it back up to 1400 or stick it out at 1200 until I start losing again? Any input would be a appreciated

I would try back at 1400 calories. You might find that your body is noticing the less calories and has decided to hold onto some because it thinks some hard times are coming! Hope that helps and good luck!!!0

When MFP sets me at 1200 calories, I take that as a sign to slow my loss down (ie aim to lose a little less per week). I manually set it for 1300 calories most of the time.
If you look at your GOALS page, you can see how much MFP estimates you burn every day (CALORIES BURNED FROM DAILY ACTIVIY) as long as you are below this number, you will have a deficit and be losing. Play around with it and see what you are comfy with.0 -

After a 51 pound loss, I have been very frustrated because for the last 5 weeks... no loss. I exercise a lot and my left over calories were around 800 to 1100. That worked for a while, but I decided to switch it up this week. Less exercise, more calories, my left over calories have been around 400 to 500 this week. I am seeing the scales move again. So my advice to you, switch things up. I never thought eating more would really help me lose weight, but so far it looks like I'm wrong.
Another often overlooked problem can be too much sodium. Right now the RDA is suggested to be around 2,500 mcgs, but the government is planning to lower it to 1,500. I find I am more successful when I try to stay around 1,500 to 1,800. Many packaged, frozen and canned foods as well as bread and cheeses have a lot of sodium. Your body will hang onto water when it gets too much. You would think soup and veggies would be good for you, and they are if they are homemade or fresh. But watch out for hidden sodium. It's making us all overweight.0 -
Mine situation was like that at first I dropped 10lbs then my calorie intake changed, after 6 months I gain 3lbs back my calorie intake stayed the same. I learned through reading responses that I not only do I need to eat the recommended calorie intake , I also had to make up the calories taken off from working out so I needed to have the 1200 calories to loose weight. I am trying my hardest to eat the recommended amount.0

I would go back and double check all of your settings and goals. Losing 10 lbs shouldn't drop cals that much. With what you have to lose, your loss per week goal should be no more than 1 lb per week. Sounds like one of your settings is off.0
