Hi all,

I guess I'm new but only ish because I've been using the myfitnesspal app for about a month now. It wasn't until someone I work with told me that there was a forum that I've really checked it out online.

I need inspiration guys, it's been a month and NOTHING! To be honest it's not nothing, I have lost 4lbs, but the annoying thing is when I joined I severely underestimated my weight (I didn't have any scales!)

Anyway, realistically it's been about 2 weeks now and I've not changed, I'm struggling to keep motivated, and often find myself reaching for bad things (luckily I haven't) but it is tough. I'm doing more exercise (a lot more) and people keep telling me that I'm probably building muscle but I can't tell and seem to still have a horrendously huge stomach!

ARGH need a bit of encouragment I think :)

    Ohai and Welcome!

4lbs is great start! Remember that your body needs to get used to the new ways you're forcing on it. - This is a complete life style change. But don't worry, cause we're all looking to make that change together!

And remember, some weeks you win some, and you lose some. The most important thing is to keep on going.

Hi Newbie(ish), just a little suggestion. I bought a waist trimmer at Walmart & wear it every time I work out (you can wear anytime really, but I only wear to work as that's more comfortable for me & I'm in sweat mode anyway lol). It's AMAZING & I could tell the difference right away after the first work out. I don't leave for the gym without it & I wear it when I Wii fit too. I like it cos I can change where I wear it high or low, alternating it every other day to get maximum pay off for allllll of my belly lol. Good luck & if you need more support send me a request...I'll overwhelm you with "high 5's" & "go girl's" :D
  • Hi!! I feel you on that one. I just got started and have tons of baby weight to lose (and some pre-baby weight). That is awesome that you lost 40 pounds! How did you do it? You also seem to have a lot of well power to keep away from the bad foods, that will be a struggle for me. What type of workouts are you doing? You seem to be really motivated, so I'm sure you will reach your goal. Good luck!!!!
  • I struggle with the same issue daily! I am pretty new to this site as well and since being on the online site i have been quite a bit more motivated than with my app on my phone :) I know its tough but heres what i do that keeps me hopeful... I have a scale and I weigh twice a day in the morning (log it) and at night (and log again) My scale is always a scale thats tells you in points too like say i was 210 yesterday.. this morning when I get on the scale its says 209.4..... that .6 in weight I take and hold on to it thru out the day cause when I get back on the scale I dont want that to go up! lol So that helps me in considering my food options for the day... and i pack my own lunch and walk alot with my job and i make sure to track EVERYTHING! Hope this helps if you need motivation... IM HERE!

  • Awww guys!

Thank you so much. The app makes you feel a bit lonely doesn't it. Like you're the only one struggling.

I think you're all right, I just need to stick to what I'm doing and not get disheartened. It would help if my little counter thing went down though

Fingers crossed for the end of this week eh!

Thanks all, keep all the good motivation coming, man do I need it!

Don't get discouraged over 4 lbs. That's actually a good health weight-loss pace -- 1-2 lbs per week. Hang in there, and remember, we're all in this together! Post here any time you need a little encouragement, or even a "kick" in the butt!
  • Thanks copperdave!
