To my understanding, it's not necessarily a day's calories, but more of a weeks, or month's calories. So, as long as you balance out and for the week or month, you are under or have met your goal, you should be fine. Being sick throws us all off, all we can do is get back in the groove and keep moving with it. Good luck, hope you are feeling all better now!

A couple of days under is not a huge deal, and it's perfectly fine to "refeed" after that to get yourself back to normal. Glad you're feeling better.

I think you are safe if you eat more the next day after eating too little. You are going for 3500 calories gone over the course of a week (or 7000 if you are trying to lose 2 lbs). So it's fine if your daily deficits combined make the 3500. If you are sick your body also needs the food for energy getting better so eating more when you feel a little better will only help you in the long run.
  • Being sick totally bites, and it messes with how much you eat and even how many calories you burn. Look to the long term: Between a 700 calorie day and a 1600 calorie day, you average 1150 per day. Every day will be different. I always look at my week and take the average to see where I'm at, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just get better soon!
