I’ve been thinking of a drink (nothing like red bull) that I can take before a workout so that I can have more energy to lift weights and run. Does anyone know of the pro’s or con’s or even know which one would be best to take. After a hard workout I usually have a protein shake but wondering about a pre-workout drink. Thanks!!!:drinker:

get some creatine powder! just put a scoop in a glass, fill with water and stir! it tastes good and gives you that extra energy to finish a hard work out and allow you to do extra reps/laps! : )

    Bump!
  • I have thought about this too for a while and I didn't want something packed with sugar. So I looked into supplements and I found a product called No-explode by BSN. Its a preworkout drink that provides energy, mental focus, and stamina. Best part is its only 25 calories per scoop, and it comes in a variety of flavors and mixes easy with water. I have been using it for the past two weeks and it is great!

But... I preworkout meal can be as easy as a banana and a piece of whole wheat bread with peanut butter!

    BSN No-explode is awesome!!!!!

I’ve always thought that creatine was for men. But I suppose we are all trying to achieve the same goal. I also don’t want to take a drink that is bad for my heart or high in sugar.

I use GNC's Pro Performance amplified endurance booster. It has carbs, electrolytes, and protein along with a bunch of other things that really seem to help! Your supposed to use 1 scoop before and 1 during your workout. I usually mix 1 big bottle with 1/2 or 1 scoop and drink about half before I workout and the rest while I am working out.

Strength Training is a great way to exercise, especially when trying to tone and build your body in addition to losing weight. There are many pre-pumps to choose from.

I have tried Jack3d, and it does give me a pump, but its a major rush and my workouts can last for hours. NO-Explode also works well, but there is a lot of caffeine in it too. If you are not too susceptible to caffeine, NO-Explode is a good one. It is sold in smaller sizes too.

I am currently using ACG3 and like it, but only 1 week into it.

I like protein shakes personally. I use Six Star whey protein, it comes in a variety of flavors, the two that I have tried are Banana Cream and French Vanilla. One scoop of powder, 1 cup of fat free milk or almond milk, 1 Tbs of creamy peanut butter (for taste and added protein) and usually a med banana. then I add ice to the blender for texture. Tastes awesome, and gives you good energy. Split it between my wife and I comes out to about 240-260 calories and about 20 grams of protein.

That sounds great! I might just try it. Thanks for posting the recipe!
