Hey All,

Im new, only been tracking for about 5 days. Things are going great so far, but I wonder...what are your goals for your weight loss, like besides being a certain weight and BMI? Also do any of you have goals that are considered on the lower end of your weight average or BMI?

I have no idea what I will look like at my goal weight and I have this idea in my head of what I want to look like ( Im tall, 5'8 so I want to look lean, almost a runners body) but I have no idea if those are two COMPLETELY different things. LOL

Thanks for any comments!

Hello & welcome to MFP! You're going to love it on here. I've seen quite a bit of folks on here completely transform their bodies from flabby to fabulous! Maybe you could check into different workout DVD's or get a personal trainer? I've seen some huge transformations from those doing Jillian Michael's "30 day Shred" on here. I wish you the best of luck on your journey! Feel free to add me as a friend :flowerforyou:

Hello and welcome!!! I think being at the lower end of your weight range and BMI puts the weight pretty close to each other, no matter which goal you strive for. For example, I'm 5'9". The recommended weight for my height is 150. The weight range for my height for a healthy BMI is 128-169. It seems reasonable to me to choose something at the lower end of the range and make that my goal, so I am also choosing 150 for my BMI weight which would put me in the normal/healthy range.

Feel free to add me for some support along the way.
  • I, also, have no idea what I will look like at my goal weight. I have never been that low before. I chose a goal that is in the middle of what is recommended for my height, which is 118-159. I chose a goal of 140. It gives me something to work for. I am excited to see how I change and hope that I can finally get the confidence that I have always wanted! Good luck!
