  • Nikki, are you new to exercising this much? When starting out an exercise program your muscles will hold water sometimes. As long as you are eating healthy and exercising you will both lose weight and tone up. Good luck!

as hard as it is for some to get past that scale related or weight related point of view start to look at it from a health point of view, get measurements this will tell you the true story, how do your clothes fit now? I would not be surprised if they fit much better. You can pack a very healthy you into a much smaller but equally heavy package, the number on the scale does not equate health.
  • I know for me personally, when I took up running a year ago, I added a solid 5 lbs on in the first 2 weeks. I was very frustrated. I always thought running of more a cardio thing but it uses so many muscles and is a real strengthener. And as you probably already know, muscle weighs more than fat so based on what your workouts are, it seems like you can definitely count on adding muscle weight and replacing fat with it. And I bet that will do the job of toning and strenghthening and still decrease your % body fat and give you better overall fitness. So maybe not so much weight loss as fat loss. Def keep it up! Hope I was helpful :) -Sue

when i started this whole fiasco i was mainly doing cardio

when i got to a weight i was happy to start pumping iron aswell as my cardio
for a couple of weeks i was stuck at the same weight !!!
must have been the old wifes tale regarding muscle weighing more per cubic cm than fat!!!

anyhow the scale started to drop after a couple of weeks !!

a good idea is to do light weights & more reps for toning

    sorry about the grammor xx
