OKAY....after work today I'm going shopping for smoothie ingredients...I haven't really tried any and I'm wanting to make sure that I don't leave the store without everything I need.....I'm always leaving one ingredient I need for a recipe at the store even when I have a list.....I need ideas for my list of smoothie ingredients....I'm picky about things like this...that's why I haven't really drank them before...sometimes I have texture issues and not really liking yogurt....etc...just need some ideas....

Check out the frozen fruit section - Jamba Juice (not sure if you've ever been to one its a fantastic smoothie shop) Anyways they have premade frozen pieces with yogurt in them and you just add apple juice to it and blend to your consistency! They are really good! MY husband loves to add his protein powder to them (the vanilla creme flavor powder) A couple of other companies also make smoothie mixes in the frozen fruit section!

My family favorite (my kids like it too) is to get V8 fusion for the liquid part. They have many flavors and you get 1 full serving of fruits AND vegetable in 8 oz.. Put 8 oz (or more if you are making for more than one person) in the blender, 1 banana, 4 oz. plain Greek yogurt (I know you said you don't like yogurt but this is really good!). Mix it and drink it! For us, the 2 main ingredients are the yogurt (for thickening and texture not to mention some great protein) and the V8. Play with the fruit and change it up.0

Not sure if you will like it. This morning I made a very simple one: 2 oz skim milk (or you can add/subtract to fit the thickness that you'll like) + a banana + strawberries. You can consider add plain greek yogurt to any smoothies you like. Be creative and have fun with it. Or google it online.
BTW, I use all fresh fruits instead of frozen.0 -
Is the smoothie for a snack? A meal replacement? A protein boost? That will determine what you need to put in it.0

I just had a post workout smoothie:
1 banana, some frozen blueberries & blackberries, 1/2c original (plain) almond milk, a little whey protein. = YUM!
Edit to add:
I like to use frozen berries because you can buy organic berries cheaper that way, you don't lose nutrition and it gives the smoothie a good texture.0 -
I would suggest just getting the fruits and veggies that you like... If you want to add yogurt you can, you don't have to... Also, if there is a particular juice you like you can add it, but you don't have to.
I have recently just made my smoothies with frozen unsweeten strawberries and a little bit of OJ and a dash of sugar substitute and it works for me...
Its all about what you like.0 -
I have a smoothie for breakfast every morning. I use 0% Greek yogurt (way higher in protein that regular) Frozen blueberries, fresh mango, papaya and banana with a little skim milk or juice. I also add ground flaxseed to up the nutrients.0
