Been doing this for a little over a week now and am scared to step on the scale. First of all I don't own a scale (perhaps a trip to walmart tonight haha) second of all what if I didn't lose anything? what If I simple am eating this way and not losing a single pound!? I keep worrying. Oh boy I drank that low cal wine last night (i did track it!) but i heard alcohol can slow weight loss. Is this normal? How long did you wait to weigh yourself the first time?

I know exactly how you feel....unlike you I've been doing it a little longer, but like you I don't own a scale...I'm too scared to even buy one bc I don't want it to deter me..I guess I'll just patiently wait on my clothes to fit differently..0

I only weigh once a month. I've noticed that most people weigh once a week. I'm do to weigh & take measurements today & am nervous about it. Just don't want to be disappointed. Don't stress too much about it....you know that whole cortisol thing & all. I'm sure it will be fine. I guess your first step would be to have a scale :happy:0

I weighed after one week and was happy I did. Give it a shot......and invest in a scale!
Also, I try to only weigh myself once per week. But sometimes I feel like I've lost so I get on the scale to see. Then I agonize over having that loss actually last until my official weigh in day. Then I start getting on too often, then I start worrying,,,,,,a vicious cycle that could be avoided by me only getting on the scale once per week but I never learn :noway:
Best of luck to you!0 -
I waited a week.. I understand how you feel when you say "Oh boy I drank that low cal wine last night (i did track it!) but i heard alcohol can slow weight loss.", haha, I always look at what I ate or did the past week and say to myself :
"Oh no! I didn't get my full 8 hours of sleep everynight, and I drank diet pop atleast 4 times this week... Those are supposed to slow weight loss.. Oh no!!"
But honestly, neither of those have dramatically effected my weight loss, that I know of.. and I still have lost 30 pounds in 3 months.0 -
I weigh myself every Monday morning. I'm heading to completing my second week this week. The first week I lost 5lbs. I hadn't noticed and physical change except that I had more energy and was generally feeling better about myself. I didn't expect to lose much at all the first week. I also measure every Saturday as I feel that's a better measure of progress than weight loss. If I've put on muscle but not lost much fat, I'd expect the scales to stay the same or even go up slightly, but if I'm also losing inches at the same time then I know that's what's happening.
Also, it's worth getting a good quality scales as they're more likely to be accurate.0 -
I'm chicken too... So I wanted until my pants felt loser and then weight myself, lost 6 lbs!0

I weigh myself everyday, I know I shouldn't but if I don't I feel like I will gain and then never be able to lose it. Totally wrong concept.0

Just get a scale and step on it. Don't worry about what the scale says as much as how you feel and how your clothes fit. While it's nice to see that number go down it isn't the only sign of improved health. Good luck to you!0

Scary! Once a week is enough for me.0

Just step on, if you don't lose it's not your fault. You've been trying and that's what counts. It may take a while but your taking steps. Your learning a new skill and developing that skill will be a long process.0
