I recently discovered the joys of a chef salad. I want to make my own, but I'm not sure what coldcuts to buy. Or would it be better to cook up my own pieces of chicken and perhaps a ham steak?

I use my own chicken or ham. I also like Amy's Texas Veggie burgers, cut up on top of a salad.0

You can make a great cob salad with boneless skinnless chicken breast, some egg and turkey bacon. And wishbone Salad spritzers are pretty decent in cals.0
