Breakfast Muesli
Breakfast Muesli
½ C 3-5 minute oatmeal
½ C Hot Water
2 C Nonfat yogurt ( I used the greek yogurt for more protein and thickness)
¼ C chopped dried apricots
¼ C golden raisins or cranberries
1 apple unpeeled, cored and diced
4 TBS oat bran or wheat bran ( or 2T of each)
2 TBS Wheat Germ
2 TBS coarsely ground flax seed
2 TBS Honey
2 TBS slivered almonds
1. In a medium bowl, pour hot water over oatmeal and let stand for 20 minutes or until water has been absorbed.
2. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
3. When serving, top with banana if wanted.
Notes:
• You can use vanilla non fat yogurt for added flavor
• Any dried fruit can be used i.e. cranberries, figs, dates etc.
• Any nut works well
• It’s better the next day and can really be kept for 5 days with no concerns.
It's very fillikng and very portable.
I figured it at 6 servigs at about 3/4 C a serving. Depending on what you put in it I calculated it at 225 calories a serving.

You can really tailor it to how you like it. I like plain yogurt but if you like it sweeter you can use sweetened yogurt. Sometimes I don't add the wheat or oat bran and it's fine. Depends what I have in the house.0 -
