BMR vs MFP

I am 5'3", and my BMR is 1657. MFP is having me at 1200 calories. I have been doing this for over a month, staying between 1200-1500 calories/day. The weight loss is not really happening, and I am thinking that maybe I should increase my calories to 1600. I exercise at least 4 days a week, at least 30 minutes each day. Should I increase my calories?

I am feeling the same way, my BRM is around 1500, but I've been keeping calories around 1200 and have only lost 7lbs. I am wondering the same thing.0

How intensely are you exercising? Are you doing strength training or just cardio? If you do up calories, make sure they're HEALTHY calories (like protein, veggies or fruit). Good luck!0

I really need to know more, but if you are eating your exercise calories, then you may want to increase your calories. I would like to know what sort of exercise you are doing. Also are you very careful measuring your portions and logging things? Are you drinking lots of water?0

If that is in one month 7 pounds is not bad.0 -
I just asked this on my feed today, and I think I'm going to try it. It makes sense that you're body should get at LEAST what it would need if it were asleep for 24hrs. So that is going to be my minimum, and I'm just going to watch what type of foods I'm putting in my body.0

My BMR is just under 1600, I work out pretty hard 6 days a week... I eat between 1200 and 1500 cals and I've been losing an average of 2lbs per week. Maybe your workouts need to be more strenuous?0

Don't forget that the closer you get to your goal weight, the harder it is for you to lose, too.0
