Eating right before a workout?

I work a 12 hour shift, overnight. I get 2, 1 hour breaks. On my second break, I go to the gym. By the time by break rolls around, I AM STARVING! (I work in an enviroment where I can not have food or drink)

So my question is, what can I eat right before my workout, that will help calm my hunger, but also not hinder my workout?

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Right now, I eat an apple. I was just wondering if maybe the sugar in the apple hinders my workout. Since I would be burning sugar instead of fat?

    I don't know! :S

My goto pre-workout snacks are banana or yogurt. Tonight is gonna be a banana night.

the apple shouldn't be so bad since it's natural sugar. I usually do PB on some toast. I tried not eating before workouts and that sucked haha
