    I use a regular scale .. no battery.. make sure you are on a level surface and dont beat yourself up about it..

    I weigh myself every day, but only record my weight once a week. I used to take my weight on Friday, which was often my lowest weight of the week. I decided that it was in my best interest to start taking my weight on Monday, after the weekend. The reason was that I was in a horrible cycle of using Mon-Th to "lose" the weekend weight. This way I keep things in check much better over the weekends.

    Always weigh yourself at the same time of day, under the same circumstances (meaning before breakfast etc.).
