    we call them snow cones here in the south because they are actually shaved ice formed into a cone shape.....I looked up "snow cone" in the data base and one listing is there. I also looked up "shaved ice" and there is one there also. They are all basically the same thing....some type of ice with a flavored sugar syrup poured over it.

    A little further south we call them Snowballs too LOL

    I was just wondering that same thing the other day about calories in them because as hot as it gets in south louisiana it sure sounds like a great idea! They are mainly sugar though so the sugar alone would probably send the calories sky high....there are sugar free ones though. Just a thought. :happy:

    Too funny!!!! I actually had a snowcone yesterday!!!!! It was my b-day and that was one of my cheat treats....I had a Hurricane with cream!!!!!! OMG soooooooooooo, sooooooo very good ~sigh~

BUT IM GUESSING IT WAS IN AN 8 OZ. CUP BUT YOU KNOW HOW THE FILL THEM HIGH... ALL THIS CONFUSION OVER A CUP OF FLAVORED ICE...:huh:

    SO THAT WOULD BE.... 220 FOR 3 OZ.. TIMES .. 3 ... 660 CAL FOR 8 OZ????

    yeah, it is going to be high calorie.....it's just ice with a very high sugar content sugar poured over it. I wanted a Sonic small lemon slush the other day.....looked it up to add it before I went to go get it...it made me change my mind!!! It had 200 calories, but also had 56 GRAMS of sugar!!! TOOOO much sugar...that would have been overload.

    Don't sweat it, it was a great treat for this time of year!!!! Just drink your water and I'm sure you'll be fine.

    I doubt that there was 8oz of the syrup and that is where the calories come from...but since everyone fills them different who knows how many ounces were in it lol....just chalk it up to good summer fun and enjoy it! Tomorrow is another day! :wink:

    I'm thinking sugar free snow ball/cone/shaved ice...who cares as long as it's cold!!!!!!!!!!

    Never saw those kind--just the white ones with the pink insides. Used to work with a guy who would eat about 10 packs a day of them and always stayed skinny. Wonder what he looks like now.....

    HAAAAAAAAA, I have a boss who eats like that, eats out 2 times a day, fast food and is thin as a rail. I do tell him that if I cut him he wouldn't bleed because of all the cholestrol sp? built up!!!
