Feeling more satisfied after meals

I recently started paying attention to my nutrition targets (especially sugar and sodium) and, and the advice of my dr, began taking a multi-vitamin and calcium supplement. Also, increased the amount of water I drink. I don't know if it is related, but now after I eat even a small snack I feel much more satisfied, and noticie that feeling of satisfaction for a considerable period of time. Given what I have learned about sugar and insulin, I wonder if lowering the sugar levels is responsible for this - I am no longer experiencing the lows and highs which caused me to feel hunger quicker. Does this seem reasonable? Has anyone else had this experience?

I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the sodium, but I do try and watch my sugar. (get it mostly from fruits and vegetables) and I eat about every 3-4 hours. I am not having those lows or highs either! Isn't is a great feeling. I used to get shaky when I needed to eat, but that hasn't happened in 6 weeks!0

I have. My snacks no longer consist of something I can get out of a vending machine or things that are loaded with sugar and salt (at least not nearly as much) and I have noticed that I no longer really experience a lot of that "OH MY GOODNESS I'M STARVING!" or a need for a quick energy pep up. I feel full longer now. Which is great!0

Yes, I have had the same experience. I went to my doctor this week and my sugar levels have been creeping up, which concerned me. I read an article on more filling foods and I've had two whole eggs and a glass of skim milk for breakfast and that has really helped. My doctor said for me to drink more water, too. I've already been taking a multi-vitamin, so hopefully I won't keep having that hungry feeling when I know I shouldn't be hungry.0

I am finding myself much more satisfied. I was just studying my food diarys and I really need to work on cutting down the sodium. I have given up the salt shaker altogether and still seeing how much sodium is in food is amazing. I am increasing my water to 1/2 of my weight. I read today that that is how much water you should drink a day. I really am going to work on sodium this week and see what a difference that makes.0

This is way cool! I honestly didn't expect to experience this benefit. It is almost euphoric for me.0
