P90X Legs & Back workout modification

So, I have 3 more weeks left to finish P90X. This is my second round doing it, my first round was 2 years ago. At this point I want to finish this 3 weeks strong but I want to intensify my workouts. As a result I came with the idea of modifying lots of things about P90X. I replaced Yoga with Intervals X Plus (I know how important Yoga is but as much as I try to do it, is just not for me). I also replacing Kenpo X with Kenpo X Plus. Chest & Back I am mixing it with push ups and dumbbells bench, and today I'll modify my legs workout. My plan is to apply the same concept of 8 to 10 reps to increase muscle mass instead of going for the 25 reps in most of the legs workouts. So the idea will be to use lots of weight so I can't do more than 10 reps max. Will I succeed? I think so. Will it be tough? Heck Yeah. The legs muscles consume lots of energy so it will be interesting to see how much it will drain me during the workout.
Anyone out there has done something similar with the legs and P90X?

For those who might be interested. Here are a few things I learned. Do not try to overload the legs workout like I was planning, you'll probably run out of fuel before the first 30 minutes has passed by. Instead mix it up, do the squads with lots of weight but the lunges are some dangerous babies. And be ready for some major soreness the next day.0
