I want to make a meat spaghetti sauce this is what I am going to add, how do I figure out what the amount in my portion will equal?
1lb extra lean ground beef
5-7 vine tomatoes in the food processor
1 green pepper
1 med jalapeño pepper
Garlic plus spice
Cinnamon
Parsley
Basil
I was thinking to for a little sweet kick maybe chopping up some mango and tossing it in.. Hoping this works and tastes good!

When you are on the food tab there is a link underneath the tabs that says recipes. Give your recipe a name, then add all the ingredients in the entire recipe. Then once you have done that, input the amount of servings it makes. Once complete, you just go to that recipe and select add to diary, and put the amount of servings you had.

you can add it in as one of your recipes, you just need to measure or estiamate how many servings you are making (you could measure how many cups for example) mfp will do all the math!

I do this all the time!! It helps with something like sauce or soup to measure the whole amount (in a blender pitcher, or large measuring cup). Then you can figure the amount of calories per cup. When you serve yourself, use a measuring cup or a ladle that you know the size of (I have a 4 oz ladle) and you can easily figure out how much you have used and eaten.
