I have been eating foods I normally would with controlled portion sizes for my first week here. I have to say I am very surprised that #1 I am coming in about 400 cake below where I should be (not good from what I have been reading on here) and that my carbs are way way lower than where they should be! I am shocked! I thought I would need more protein less fat and carbs. But it's the other way around!
I saw someone on here say, at first just worry about your calories, then once you get that down start worrying about sodiums and sugars so that you can master each step.
So that is exactly what I have been doing. Some stuff I should not be eating (like french fries with a teeny bit of gravy) but I wanted to see where I would be how I normally eat.
So this week, I am shooting for more fruits and veggies less crap food

Someone's thinking about cake!!! ;-P Yeah, it's easier to start concentrating at one thing at a time, because trying to regulate it all at once can be overwhelming!0 -
I had sodium added and well I don't use salt and most the time it was over for what this site says. I have to stop tracking sodium, i know I don't add salt to typical foods and when eating out if I get fries I ask them to not salt them..0

Did someone say cake? I'm sorry -- I get distracted sometimes!
Congrats on your first week -- it's good to set a baseline so that you understand where you're doing well and where you need to work. It can be surprising, can't it?
I agree with the previous post -- focus on one thing at a time, otherwise it can get overwhelming.0 -
