Apple shape here ... plus, I'm shrinking in height as I get older. Anyone have ideas for getting rid of the stomach fat? If I shrink anymore, I might turn into an apple and roll away.

 losing weight will help the stomach fat ratio, though if this is where you hold your weight you will always carry some extra there. I'm a pear....my bum and thighs are always fatttier than the rest of me even when at my slimest.

The South Beach diet claims to eliminate stomach fat first. I have some friends who have had sucess with that diet, and I tried it myself, but couldn't stick to it. The food is very healthy and I never felt hungry, but there is a huge list of foods that you can't eat.

Crunches, crunches, and more crunches! Diet, exercise and walking alot has worked for me. I've lost 11 inches off my middle alone. Took 5 years, but it's still going. Good luck-Chris.

There is no way to target fat loss. Fat comes off from what ever area the body can access fat fastest.
Crunches can tighten the muscles under the stomach fat, but do nothing for the fat above (aside from the normal caloric burn from working muscles). There is no food out there that has been proven to remove fat from one area over another. And there are no pills that target a specific area or type of fat (no credible pills at least). The only way to lose fat is to eat right, and exercise (mostly cardio) and burn the fat off.

Incorporate daily cardio into your life. You mentioned that this is a concern as you get older. Not only is consistent cardio the best way to target belly fat, it has huge benefits to battle the other side effects of aging.
