I am just starting the P90X Lean Program and was wondering how you figure out how many calories you burn during each activity?

Heart rate monitor would be the best way0

It depends on too many factors (i.e, person fitness level, intensity, age, weight etc) to determine that answer. I recommend investing in a HRM.0

Yes yes! You need a HRM. My boyfriend and I are currently doing the lean program and he burns almost double what I do during the same exercises. He also is much bigger than myself. It really is going to vary person to person. The HRM is worth the investment, I'm IN LOVE with mine.0

Agree...you need a heart rate monitor! I am on week 3 of P90X lean. The amount of calories I am burning for things like Kenpo or Cardio X are twice what I was doing in the 1st week mainly because I can now keep up :>)
I was very disappointed in this as I work out pretty hard in the gym (biking/running/eliptical) and I can burn 450-500 calories an hour using my heart rate monitor as the # (certainly never the machines!). However, I am barely getting 300 calories in on Px90 and I've come to realize that is ok. I'm trying to get strength. I have the cardio down! . And it is usually my second workout of the day so I can get in 600-900 calories a day and that is pretty darn good for me!
Good luck!
Oh, I forgot the part i wanted to tell you! Once you know what the calories are that you burned, you can manually enter them in under cardio or strength using the "add your own exercise" option.0 -
Thanks. Just getting ready to start the program and didn't know how to track in on my fitness pal.0
